About Us

Welcome to the 2016/17 Walnut Grove Intermediate School Website. We are so glad that you are visiting our site, and even more excited about the opportunities and offerings we have for your children. Walnut Grove is a 7th and 8th grade Intermediate School that has less than 450 students. We are proud to be a small school where every student is known and taken care of academically and socially. We have a fabulous staff of teachers and support personnel that take interest in each of your children's' academic progress and personal maturity. We look forward to supporting students to do more deep reading, writing and discussing as we prepare them for both college and career. Please explore our website and you will find a wealth of information from teacher's assignments to activity and sports schedules.  If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback for us please contact us through the website e-mail. Thank you, and enjoy the site.

Weekly Message

Good Afternoon Walnut Grove Families,

This week will be Frogapalooza and the Civil War Experience!  It will be our 8th year of having our 7th graders learn about frog biology through a hands-on dissection, while having our 8th graders have the Civil War come alive with Confederate, Union and Artillery reenactors on campus to show first-hand what the Civil War is like.

I would then like to invite each of you to our Open House Thursday, March 30, at 6 p.m.  It will be a great night to see what your students have been working on, and to see many of the activities and clubs that are available here at Walnut Grove. We still have a few more tickets available if you would like to bring your family to our District’s Harlem Ambassadors game. It will be a great night of fun, food, and entertainment on Wednesday, April 5 at West Covina High School.

I am proud to announce our PTSA Honorary Service Award recipients for this year:  They are Ms. Ana Belmontes, our PTSA Treasurer, Ms. Vicky Mendoza, our PTSA Volunteer, Ms. Carol Rudd, our Attendance Clerk, and Ms. Britt Linke, our Social Science and Yearbook teacher!  Congratulations to all of them for all the service they provide for our students!

Thanks and Have a Great Day!

Welcome to Walnut Grove
