About Us

Welcome to the 2017/18 Walnut Grove Intermediate School Website. We are so glad that you are visiting our site, and even more excited about the opportunities and offerings we have for your children. Walnut Grove is a 7th and 8th grade Intermediate School that has less than 450 students. We are proud to be a small school where every student is known and taken care of academically and socially. We have a fabulous staff of teachers and support personnel that take interest in each of your children's' academic progress and personal maturity. We look forward to supporting students to do more deep reading, writing and discussing as we prepare them for both college and career. Please explore our website and you will find a wealth of information from teacher's assignments to activity and sports schedules.  If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback for us please contact us through the website e-mail. Thank you, and enjoy the site.

Weekly Message

Good Afternoon Walnut Grove Families,

We are proud to announce that Walnut Grove was named a California Honor Roll School.  We were recognized for our academic achievement and for being leaders in getting students to grade level and beyond!  Congratulations to you for all your support!  We are a Gold Ribbon School, a Title One Achievement School and now to be recognized once more shows that we are not only one of the top school in the district but one of the top schools in the state of California. We are also proud to announce that we were winners in the Cash for Schools contest at Plaza West Covina.  This is the third time in a row that we will win $2,500 for student and school incentives!  I am so proud of our students, parents, staff, and school community.

Next week, we will have our Spring Band Concert on Thursday May 24 at 6:30 in the cafeteria.  Our Sports Banquet will be on Thursday May 31 at Villa Tepeyac.  Our 8th grade Knott’s Berry farm trip and 7th grade field day will be on Tuesday June 5.  We will also have our PTSA Barbeque and ASB dance that last week of school, as well as promotion practice for our 8th graders.  This will all culminate in our 8th grade Promotion Ceremony Friday, June 8, at 9 a.m.  Promotion letters have been sent home and the Ceremony is always one of the highlights of the year.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Welcome to Walnut Grove!
