About Us

Welcome to the 2016/17 Walnut Grove Intermediate School Website. We are so glad that you are visiting our site, and even more excited about the opportunities and offerings we have for your children. Walnut Grove is a 7th and 8th grade Intermediate School that has less than 450 students. We are proud to be a small school where every student is known and taken care of academically and socially. We have a fabulous staff of teachers and support personnel that take interest in each of your children's' academic progress and personal maturity. We look forward to supporting students to do more deep reading, writing and discussing as we prepare them for both college and career. Please explore our website and you will find a wealth of information from teacher's assignments to activity and sports schedules.  If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback for us please contact us through the website e-mail. Thank you, and enjoy the site.

Weekly Message

Good Afternoon Walnut Grove Families,

This is my last weekly message of the year!  I want to thank you for all you have done to support your student and our school.  This has been such a great year.  Our students have excelled academically.  They have the highest reading scores and increases in the District!  Their GPAs have been the highest in the district.  80% - 90% of our English Learners went up a level on their CELDT test, and we are expecting our end of the year CAAASP tests to have their highest scores ever.  Our attendance has been the highest in the District and our GATE students have performed at the highest levels again this year.  I am so proud of our students and know they will continue to succeed academically and socially in the future.

This week will be our Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, June 7.  It will start at 9 AM, but be sure to come early.  We will have our 7th graders watch the ceremony so they can prepare for their 8th grade year.  8th graders will leave with their families after the ceremony.  7th graders will be on a shortened day schedule and will be released at 11:35.

I want to wish you the best, and have an awesome summer vacation!  If you need anything please come by!

Thanks and have a great summer!

Welcome to Walnut Grove
